Strip Actuators

Strip Actuators

Omega’s strip (bimorph equivalent) actuators give a much larger displacement than monolithic piezoceramic components with moderate force levels which make them ideal for a wide variety of applications including precision positioning, textile machines and sensors.

Their structure consists of two piezoelectric ceramic plates which are bonded to a conductive central electrode. Both piezoceramics plates are poled in the same direction (Parallel Poled). The polarity of the strip actuator is positively marked on the top electrode. The surface of the strip actuator is coated with special protective varnish.

Typical operating parameters for these components are as follows:

  • Driving Voltage: 150 volts in polarized direction
  • Operating Temperature: -20 °C to +70 °C
  • Storage Temperature: -40 °C to +85 °C
  • Central Conductive Electrode: brass, stainless steel or carbon fiber
